About my Comanche

most recently i blew up the motor. the original 4 banger is out. i am building a killer smallblock for it now.

The Gist:
I am 18 years old and I only make $8.50 an hour, so this truck was built on a very low budget (the most expensive part I bought was the 5-speed at $50!). I don’t make very much money so everything on my truck I got from a friend, swap meet, junkyard, or my favorite, the five finger discount. I love it when someone tries to tell me what I should have done differently, and my response is that I built my truck for me, not so I can please everyone else. I have owned this truck for almost a year now and when I got it was bone stock, and it was about a week later that I started tinkering with it (taking unnecessary parts out, crawling underneath to see how it was built, etc.). It wasn’t until I had it for about a couple of months that I really fell in love with it. That’s when I started thinking about what I could do to modify it. Some ideas I came up with, some I saw on other people’s truck, and then some I just came across the part and loved it so much I put it on. So I built this truck for all you people that say Jeeps should be lifted not lowered. I built this truck on a really low budget, and I built it for me, not to mention I built something totally different. And seriously, have you ever seen a truck that looks like this?

Club:  UGC (Under Ground Customs)
i am the one who started this club and i continue to lead it. we have about 15 cars and trucks from all backgrounds (off roading, lowriding). basically we are a bunch of really low budget high-skoolers with alrite vehicle, that keep saving up to put the next part on our ride. we also go to the couple shows that are in our town, go to the asphault and dirt track races, and post up (hangout in our designated in parking lots). our lowest and most modified vehicle is my truck, the jeep, the fastest vehicle in our crew is an older integra that is boosted with a T3/T4 turbo, and its really fast.

P.S. this is the club that posts up christmas night, and gets pulled over in parking lots.

P.S.  stuff that I couldn’t fit on the lines above:  battery relocated to toolbox in the bed, stock bench seat in the bed, L.E.D. backup light on the back of the cab, semi-truck antennas mounted just inside the bed, removed headliner, Sunpro 3" tach, painted dash pieces, strobe lights in the headlights, crappy pioneer speaker in the bed w/ toggle switch, 2-point race belts in back seat, upside-down grill, and my personal favorite, the WWII mortar shell zip-tied to the drivers-side rocker panel.

Newest Addition:  full set of 17" late model mustang wheels with the factory tires. i got them for free! dnt worry, i didint steal them.

Next Addition:  Side pipes through the body

Most recent broken part: i fried a ring in the motor. now the motor is toast

My mods will never stop, and someday I hope to drag the frame and end up in MiniTruckin, that’s my dream.

hit me up on the space. myspace.com/rideronthestorm5

no haha it's not like that. I'm not sure how it all works actually, but this was a rare opportunity since co-worker Jason had established a contact person there, through doing another event together.

it was Mitsubishi's... we picked it up from the headquarters for a week.
yeah I mean kinda, but I was kinda too tripped out about cops to REALLY get on it... quite an exercise of self-control. And compared to driving the trucks, yeah, huge difference. I felt like a kid with a new toy. But yeah I would need more time behind the wheel to get comfortable.

hey whats up the weather in arizona sucks. on monday and tuesday it was right about 110 degrees out, then this damn rain came and on thursday night the thermometer said it was 55. ON friday at work it was still raining and i had to wear a coat and a beanie. I think the idea of global warming just went out the window.

you know what's crazy? I was in the Portland area for the weekend, and it was HOTTTT! Apparently that's not normal? hahaha it was beautiful the whole time I was there. Apparently it was the warmest it's been all year? How far are you from Portland?
I'll check out the Jeep!

very cool! when will you be buying the cherokee?

I would say a slammed cherokee would be more mini trucker-ish than a lifted one.   A cherokee by itself, I don't consider a mini truck. But who cares, that's awesome that you'll have both!! You'll have to post it and keep us updated.

planning on changing the control arms soon... i'm not positive what the hold-up is, but it's definitely not laying flat out in front.

and why no bd? perhaps too much time, effort... kinda don't want to hack it up... interior is done already.... and I love being able to drive it anytime, anywhere. I don't care about attention, in fact, I am kind of trying to keep it low key.

basically just don't want to.

Hey, i've got to tell you about this dream i just had!  I'm at my truck right, it's lookin good rollin on 17's and look at the back and there's a black toneau cover( which i never thought i would want until now!)  I open it, and i've got the entire bed lined with gray carpet that matches the inside, and a huge sub box covered in flames at the end housing 4(count em') 4 12" subs!  I woke up with the biggest smile on my face, the truck gods have blessed me with a great idea!
