Ive been working on my ride for 8 years now. It was pretty beat up when I got it, but it has slowly been taking shape. I did all the work myself. Shaved seams and handles (cab seams and rear bed seams). Relocated tailgate handle. Added roll pan. Added all hardware for electronically opening the doors. Painted it pearl white with silver flames. I airbrushed the shadows in the flames with platinum metallic from kustom shop. I added clear corners and updated taillights as well. To do: Lower it, get a tonneau cover, new windshield, new carpet for interior, chrome mirrors (ovals I think), install the front bumper with lowered valance all painted to match, rhino line the bed, rims and tires, some interior dress up, and some engine fine tuning.. I dont plan to do to much to the stock motor.. but after it wears out maybe drop in a 350 could be a while.. truck only has 60k original miles so far.. hmm.. and of course I'll install a decent stereo.. nothing fancy.. just 2 amps.. one for the door speakers, and one for the subs.. probably just a coule high powered 8 inch speakers.. no more then 1200 watts total.. basically the same setup I had in my last minitruck. That was a mazda with a solid side topper and 2 15" punching through the back window.. maybe I'll include pics of that one as well. Been into minitrucks since I was about 20, and I am 33 now Let me know what you think.. I am hoping to have the rest done by next summer, finances permitting.. this is an expensive hobby! i paid $500 for the paint alone.. good think I can paint.. this could have cost me tons more to do otherwise!

Actually, I still haven't really driven it yet. I mean, I took it for a spin in the yard to let it run for a while.. actually.. funny story.. ok, to start, I dont have current license or tabs, or any insurance on it yet.. nor does it have a windshield, or rear window in it.. as well as the fact that the driver and passenger windows are down, etc.. I mean, it not totally put back together yet. Anyway, there's the set up..
So, here I am.. first time in 8 years.. even driving it in the yard.. I pull out the garage it's been in the last 5 years, and it's running great, right.. I pull up into my front yard.. and then into my driveway.. and there is the street directly in front of me.. I was SO ready to just say screw it, and pull into the street for a quick drive around the block. What could it hurt. As I pulled up, right to the edge of the bicycle lane, a cop drove by right in front of me!! Of course, I immediately put the brakes on and put it in reverse and well.. I guess driving this beast will have to wait for another day.. hopefully a day where it will be much lower to the ground than it is now..

only 60k miles? That's great! So can you drive it now?

I know!! Well, the paint and body took me nearly 8 years to finish.. I haven't even driven this truck yet since I bought it! Lowering it is next on my list, then rims and tires.. those are the large expenses anyway.. the rest I can accumulate over time.
I haven't decided if I can afford to make it lay frame, but we'll see. In the mean-time I may just use spindels and crank torsions down in the front and remove a leaf spring or use a block in the back.. I know.. that is the cheapest way to do it, but its better than stock height at least until I can afford to get bags.
